TKW's Plans and Catch-Ups

 

This year, things were going to be different.

Very different!

 

My plans for 2022 were…

 

– 1 – I will no longer be posting monthly.

I know it was basically just a catch-up of what had been done and what I was going to do for the next month, but even that was feeling like way too much to deal with. So, blogging will be cut down to this yearly post, a half-yearly catch up, and a full year catch-up, along with any posts about book releases.

 

– 2 – I will no longer be doing newsletters.

 

– 3 – I won’t be writing to a schedule I can no longer stick to.

In 2020 I didn’t write or release the sixth set of books. They only came out last year in 2021, when, technically, the seventh set was supposed to be released. This year, it would be the eighth set due for release but I am so far from them that I cannot see them on the horizon.

So, what I’m going to do is take the pressure off myself and only write when I am inspired. Who knows, at some point in the future you may actually get some books on a monthly basis as I claimed last September. But that won’t be happening unless I have books to release, which, at this point in time, I just don’t.

 

– 4 – The paperback and hardcovers versions of Six Bone will be released, and I’ll let you know when.

 

– 5 – Posts to social media will basically cease because my Twitter and Pinterest accounts will be closed, but my Instagram account and Facebook page will go silent and private. FOR NOW.

For those who don’t know, T.K. Wrathbone is the children’s/tween author pen name of Tiara King. Any posts here will be posted to her/my social media at @tiarakinghq, or on the publishing house’s social media at @royalstarpublishing.

 

And in general, try and find inspiration once more, which the last couple of years has been sadly lacking.

 

As you can see, I achieved all of it. I released the print formats of Six Bone, and took time off from writing middle grade stories. Which leads me to…

 

2023

 

As we move into the new year, there are more things to consider.

When I release books, it’s not just on this website. It’s also on my publishing house. That means repetitive posting and uploading of the same things. I don’t want to do that any more. So I am seriously considering closing this website over Christmas. But not just closing it, moving it over to my other two websites. The posts about my books would be migrated over to tiaraking.com.au, and fun posts would be migrated to jeweldivasstyle.com.

When I publish a book it will go up on the royalstarpublishing.com.au website which will get an overhaul, as it should.

But as for this website, come 2023, I have no idea if this will still be here. It’s been a long time, a long hard slog, and tiring to boot. I need to make things as easy as possible, and if that means closing down, and migrating over, and then redirecting the url, then so be it.

And now, let’s catch up with my yearly plans…

 

What I had ALREADY done in January…

 

– 1 – Changed the theme for this blog to a more mature look and layout and added several new pages and a better bookstore and book pages.

– 2 – Updated the timeline on the about page.

 

What was ALREADY in the making for this year…was black, now it’s green!

 

– 1 – The release of ALL five sets of TKW’s Bones books in casebound hardcovers, dust jacket hardcovers, and large print paperbacks.

 

What I had planned for the year was all in black…

 

– 1 – Write the next six stories and ten anthologies under TKW since none were released last year. AT ALL! So that’s for Six Bone and Seven Bone.

– 1.1 – Type them up, edit them, send them off for editing, edit some more, etc, etc, etc…

– 1.2 – Get the covers done, check the proofs, and release them in e-book, paperback, and hardcover formats October 31st at the latest.

 

– 2 – Continue posting to Insta, FB, TW once a week and pin to my Pinterest boards monthly.

 

– 3 – Get my mailing list for my books done, and set up a newsletter for this website. I just haven’t had the brain power, or enough time in a day to do it, but I did want to overhaul the website first. Which I have.

 

– 4 – Write a reader magnet for that mailing list.

 

They were the year’s plan’s. And as you can see from the original post on this page here, what I had planned is a little all over the place. The stories for Six Bone were written and released, the stories for Seven Bone were not, and the print versions were definitely not done by October 31st.

2, 3, and 4 have not been done due to mental disinterest, hence the reason for last month’s post about have to completely overhaul the way I do things. Things will be changing. But that’s not such a bad thing.

– 1 – RELEASE A NEW BOOK!!!!!

– 2 – Get November’s blog post done.

 

Well, as you can see, a lot was achieved, including the release of THE DEMON RESIDES on September 19th.

 

 

Let’s launch into what I want to do in the month of November…

 

– 1 – RELEASE A NEW BOOK!!!!!

– 2 – Completely overhaul my life.

 

See, all really simple. I’ve been overhauling for a fair few weeks now, and I’m definitely feeling better about things. So fingers crossed that there are new stories next year.

 

 

 

Let’s catch up with September’s plans first…

 

– 1 – KEEP WRITING THIS YEAR’S STORIES! (on the list until they’re done)

– 2 – Finish off the fourth story for the current set of books.

– 3 – Type up the story, edit, have edited, and get ready for release.

– 4 – Get October’s blog post done.

 

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE….

 

– 5 – START RELEASING THE NEW BOOKS!!!!!!!

 

Well, as you can see, a lot was achieved, including the release of ALL CLOWNS MUST DIE! on September 19th.

HOWEVER…

A lot was also reorganised.

Let’s catch up with August’s plans first…

 

– 1 – Keep writing this set of stories.

– 2 – Type up the first set of stories and edit them, and then get them edited.

– 3 – Finish off the covers for the first set of e-books.

– 4 – Format and prepare the first four e-books for release in September through October.

– 5 – Start writing the next set of books.

– 6 – Get August’s blog post done.

 

As you can see two things were done, but three more are on the boil. The WHOLE set was not done, but it will be soon. More news in the next section.
